Teeth grinding
We help our patients solve all problems related to the functioning of their bite / temporomandibular joint and the consequences of its improper functioning.
One of the common complaints is bruxism, which is clenching and grinding of teeth.
With experience in treating bruxism, we apply a varied approach and appropriate procedures depending on the individual case and the cause of the problem.
The most commonly used and proven methods of treatment by us are:
– Wearing night guards – wearing a specially individually made night guard that relaxes the muscles responsible for grinding. Such a guard is made to measure to precisely fit the patient’s teeth and reduce mutual pressure on the teeth and facial muscles.
– Pharmacological treatment – in some cases, we decide to prescribe appropriate drugs that relax muscles, which help reduce the symptoms of bruxism.
– Physiotherapy – in some cases, the patient may benefit from manual therapy, such as osteopathy or chiropractic, which helps to relax the facial and neck muscles.
The appropriate and effective method of treating bruxism and teeth grinding is individually selected by us and carried out based on modern equipment necessary for proper treatment: articulator, Michigan splint, face bow, intraoral camera.
We diagnose and treat each patient with bruxism symptoms while maintaining all occlusal requirements, allowing for early detection and treatment of bruxism, which is important in reducing the risk of damage to teeth and facial muscles and preventing a deterioration in the patient’s sleep quality and quality of life.
